Lately, I have been contemplating a big move.
Now I’m not one to make any hasty decisions, so I spent quite awhile thinking about the pros and cons.
I decided to spend a few weekends here relaxing and thinking.
I took coffee with a co-worker.
I spent the afternoon at a chic boutique sipping apple cinnamon tea and talking with a friend.
Finally, I decided to utilize this famous Danish proverb and sleep on it.
The Best Advice is Found on the Pillow
After many a goodnight’s rest, I made the decision to finish my contract and leave Mexico in July.
It was a hard decision, but all good things must come to an end, and it is now time to start a new adventure. 😀
I’m happy to announce that I have accepted an ESL teaching position for the following year, but I will talk more about that in a later post.
For now, I have included a new page on my ESL travel blog with a handy interactive map of all my favorite places and experiences in Mexico.
Feel free to check it out. 🙂
The Best Advice Is Found on the Pillow
On a more literal and humorous note, the children have been creating gifts for Father’s Day this week. 😛
The kids have drawn and designed a pillow of their pop!
For a while, the project made me wonder.
Just where would this pillow fit in their decor scheme?
Would Dad snuggle with a pillow of himself?
Everyone, be careful not to sit on Dad! 😛 Haha.
Regardless of these unanswered questions, the drawings were absolutely adorable and I’m sure their dads will cherish them for years to come.
Additionally, the students created cards to give their dads on this special day. 😀
Spreading Joy in June Update
As an update on our kindness project, everything has been going very well so far and during week three, the kids have the following recommendations:
- Help prepare a meal for your family
- Hold the door open for someone
- Give a flower to a teacher
To help the students accomplish this goal, I decided to have them craft origami flowers to give the teachers as a gift to brighten up their day. 🙂
The teachers were so happy to receive the flower and the kids felt great as well! 😀
I ended the weekend on a fantastic note. I was invited to watch a Broadway performance by one of my 6th graders.
She starred as one of the dancers in Chicago.
She looked so elegant and mature in her performance. Just wonderful!
Enjoy your week and I hope to update you soon! Until then. 😀
Hi Megan! I have been reading through your blog this past week and I’ve loved getting to know you through your posts. I was searching for blogs about the CELTA course in Mexico City, because I will be starting mine in just a few weeks, and then moving to Mexico City after I graduate from college in December. I’m sad that you’ll be leaving Mexico but so so excited to keep up with your other adventures!

Thanks so much for checking out the blog! You will absolutely love the CELTA course in Mexico City. Ricardo, Richard and Orlando are fantastic teachers! My favorite part was how much all of our CELTA class bonded throughout the whole experience, since it is quite challenging, both mentally and physically. Good luck with everything! I’m sure you’ll do great! 😀
Take care,
Megan
